Who Can You Sponsor?

Your ability to sponsor a relative depends on your immigration status:
If You Are a U.S. Citizen:

  • Spouse

  • Children (under or over 21, married or unmarried)

  • Parents

  • Siblings (under or over 21)

If You Are a Green Card Holder (Lawful Permanent Resident):

  • Spouse

  • Unmarried children

We can help you determine the best path forward based on your relationship and current immigration status.

Immediate Relatives vs. Preference Categories
U.S. immigration law distinguishes between immediate relatives and those in preference
categories:

  • Immediate Relatives (spouses, unmarried children under 21, and parents of U.S. citizens) do not have to wait for a visa number.

  • Preference Categories (e.g., siblings or adult children) may face longer wait times depending on visa availability.

Special Situations

We also assist with more complex family-based immigration matters, including:

  • K-1 Fiancé(e) Visas

  • Stepchildren and adopted children

  • Re-marriage cases

  • Conditional green cards and I-751 petitions

  • Waivers for inadmissibility (I-601, I-212)
