Pathway to Citizenship and Naturalization

Who Can Qualify for the Naturalization process or direct citizenship?
There are a variety of cases that can lead to simplified processes to naturalize. Below lists the situations to the naturalization pathway.

LPR (Green Card Holder) to U.S. Citizenship

Spouse, married to an U.S. Citizen, after three years of permanent residency and marriage can apply for naturalization

Children of U.S. Citizen parents but born outside of the U.S. may already be U.S. citizens or become citizens through a simplified process

Derivative Citizenship, a child may automatically become a citizen if their parent naturalizes and conditions are met
Am I eligible to become an U.S. Citizen?
You must meet all of the following requirements:

Lived in the U.S. as a permanent resident for 5 years, if spouse of U.S. citizen for 3 years

Good Moral Character (Don't commit certain crimes)

Military and Civil Service Registration (If under the age of 31)

English Proficiency and Civics Knowledge (click here for exceptions)
